November Specials
This month, Selena had a little help from Jin in creating these recipes!
Pita Calzone: Fresh bell peppers, mushrooms, onion, tomatoes, and Monterey Jack cheese, stuffed into bite sized pockets with a dash of oregano to temp the taste buds. Add ham for them carnivores.
Mozza/Zucchini Dippers: Deep fried mozzarella sticks, the ooey-gooey, piping hot satisfaction that comes with eating melty cheese. For those that have no love of cheese, nor wish to see their waistlines jump out in front of them; try the zucchini sticks instead, with salt and pepper it makes a tasty snack. Accompanied with a light Tzatziki sauce.
Caribbean Smoked Pork Loin: Smoked over cherry wood and dark sweet rum, this jerk rub of cayenne, garlic, ginger, pepper, cloves and few other secret ingredients accent the tender, succulent, juicy meat of the tenderloin. Served with grilled nectarines and a pea shoots and arugula salad.
Warm and Spicy Beef Stew: Slow roasted beef short ribs, with carrots, onion, celery, tomato, chili s, and garlic. A sprig of thyme, a bay leaf, and a splash or two of red wine rounds out the rich meaty broth. This is better than what Grandma used to make. Served with mashed potatoes! Pan Seared
Duck Breast with Mustard Glaze: Muscovy duck breast rubbed in cranberry mustard, thyme, and black pepper seared in chardonnay, served with sautéed gnocchi, and seasonal acorn squash.
Tuna with Braised Leeks and Ginger Salsa: Thick slices of delectable tuna fish, grilled to perfection, on top a bed of Pinot Noir braised leeks, complemented by a ginger mint sauce. Rich fish, and smooth zingy sauce makes this dish a treat.
Desserts:
Pumpkin Pie Icecream: You heard right. The flavors of the pie, with some grahm cracker crunch, in cold, creamy icecream!
Cranberry Sorbet: Who needs the sauce? Sweet yet tart, cold and refreshing, and much prettier than the stuff in the can.
Chocolate Blood Orange Mousse: Fluffy whipped chocolate with a hint of orange liqueur, served with a slice of blood orange and kiwi, lightly dusted with a sprinkling of cinnamon. Complimented best with Glenlivet Scotch and freshly squeezed blood oranges on crushed ice.
